Canada has extended its good wishes to India on the 66th Independence Day and said it is proud to stand by and partner with this "incredible country".
In a pre- independence day message here today, Canadian High Commissioner Stewart Beck said the two countries shared a robust bilateral relationship across a broad range of sectors and expressed confidence that their relationship would further be strengthened and grow as "this incredible country marches ahead towards an exciting future".
He said there are several areas where collaboration is already strong between India and Canada and there was further scope for even greater cooperation between both the countries.
The potential for collaboration is particularly high in four sectors, namely - education, energy security, food security and capital for investment, Beck said adding these are sectors which are of strategic interest to India and where Canada's strengths can best complement to her needs.
Beck hoped that through this relationship India and Canada could work together and solve many of their challenges they faced today and at the same time also create and embrace new and exciting opportunities which would be benefitting both the countries in the future.
