"The car caught fire due to a short-circuit in the battery and wiring network, we rushed a fire tender with adequate personnel and the blaze was put out in 20 minutes," Station Fire Officer, Egmore, N Kesavan told PTI.
The car while on its way near the prison headquartes in Egmore caught fire, he said adding the driver of the car immediately got down from the vehicle after he noticed smoke and blaze from the bonnet.
