The incident was reported around 11.45 AM. Abhishek, who was driving the car, managed to escape with burn injuries on his hand. He was immediately taken to RML Hospital for treatment, said Jatin Narwal, DCP (New Delhi).
He sustained 10-15 per cent burn injuries and was discharged after preliminary treatment, police said, adding two fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze.
The cause of the fire is suspected to be some malfunction in the engine. However, the exact cause will be clear after the mechanical inspection report is obtained, the officer said.
