Cardamom falls by 0.8% on sluggish demand

Cardamom futures fell by 0.83% to Rs 1,033.60 per kg today as traders reduced their holdings amid sluggish spot demand.

Besides, sufficient stocks in the physical market influenced cardamom prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the commodity for February contracts eased by Rs 8.70, or 0.83%, to Rs 1,033.60 per kg with a business turnover of 203 lots.

The spice for delivery in March was down by Rs 3, or 0.26%, to Rs 1,115.50 per kg with a trading volume of 97 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to a weak trend at spot markets on subdued demand mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
