Cardamom prices rose 1.05 per cent to Rs 995 per kg in futures trade today after traders and speculators created fresh positions in the commodity due to strong demand at the spot market on hopes of improved export demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for July contract rose Rs 10.40, or 1.05 per cent, to Rs 995 per kg with a trading volume of 46 lots.
The spice for delivery in June traded higher by Rs 7.40, or 0.74 per cent, to Rs 996.60 per kg, with a business volume of 419 lots.
Market analysts said rising spot and exporters demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions influenced cardamom prices at futures market.
