Ansari, an ally of AIADMK, has also been accused of preventing officials from discharging their duty when they sought explanation and asked him to vacate the circuit house premises yesterday.
According to Police, Ansari came here for participating in a wedding function and was alloted a room in the old circuit house building.
Later, he convened a press meet in the conference hall of the new circuit house.
On a complaint from the personal assistant to the District Collector, police registered the case.
Ansari along with two other allied MLAs S. Karunaas and U. Thaniyarasu had last year appealed to chief minister K Palaniswami to hold talks with sidelined leader T T V Dhinakaran and sort out their problems.
