Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said a cashless system will check corruption, crime and Maoist activities in the state.
The Chief Minister, who inaugurated a Cashless Public Distribution System (PDS) at Koyla Nagar in Dhanbad, said the cashless system would put an end to corruption and efforts were on to make five departments paperless by end of December.
In a bid to make Jharkhand the first cashless state in the country, Das had on December 2 launched the Cashless Jharkhand Mission from Nagri block of Ranchi and simultaneously set up camps in all 24 districts, 260 blocks and 3,974 bank branches in the state.
"First district to create at least one 'Cashless Block' will be rewarded on December 28," he said.
Das who arrived here to hold a Pre-Budget Consultation Meeting with different stakeholders of North Chhotanagpur districts said his government was committed to wipe out crime and corruption.
"Probe against all Circle Officers across the state was underway and those found involved in corruption will be booked," he said.
"My government will not tolerate crime and corruption," he said.
The Chief Minister said Koylanchal University in Dhanbad district would begin functioning from next fiscal.
