Marketmen said raising of bets by participants driven by tight arrivals from growing belts and brisk demand from soap, paint and lubricant industries, mainly supported the upside in castor seed prices in futures trade here.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, castor seed for the most-traded December strengthened up by Rs 36 or 0.81 per cent to Rs 4,471 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 60,680 lots.
While, the delivery for November gained Rs 32 or 0.73 per cent to Rs 4,425 per quintal, in an open interest of 51,600 lots.
