Castorseed futures plunge on strong production estimate

Castorseed prices tumbled by Rs 166 to Rs 4,230 per quintal in futures trading today on reports of higher production estimate this season.
Marketmen said reports of higher production estimate in current year mainly putting weight on castorseed prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for January month dipped by Rs 166, or 3.78 per cent, to Rs 4,230 per quintal, having an open interest of 59,910 lots.
Most active Feburary contract pulled down by Rs 127, or 2.87 per cent, to Rs 4,298 per quintal, in an open interest of 1,60,630 lots.
