Kaur, wife of BJP leader and Amritsar MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, visited Amar Hospital Super Specialty and Heart Centre located in Mohali near here this morning, posing as a patient.
She alleged that Dr Sameer Kaushal, who is posted in Sangrur district at a government dispensary, was working at the private facility.
"I complained of pain in the abdomen and asked for emergency care. Dr Sameer Kaushal, who is posted at community health Centre, in Kohrian village in Sangrur district as a government doctor, examined me," she said.
A complaint by Punjab Panchayats president had been received stating that the government doctor was practising in a private medical facility, she said.
Kaur said she would request the state's health minister and deputy chief minister to immediately suspend the doctor so as to send a message to other government doctors who may be indulging in illegal practices.
