Radhakrishnan laid the foundation of doubling of NH 104 from Chakia to Sheohar.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, the Minister said the work would be done at a cost of Rs 108 crore and would be completed in two years time.
He said after completion of work, journey from East Champaran to Sheohar, Sitamarhi and Nepal would become fast and pleasant.
Radhakrishnan said a large number of roads were being built in Bihar under PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna) and stressed that the Land Acquisition Bill brought by the Centre was needed for carrying out development work, particularly in the field of roads and Railways.
About the Mahatma Gandhi setu on river Ganga considered as the gateway to North Bihar from the state capital, he said repair of the six km bridge would be completed soon with the help of Japanese technology.
