Claiming that the Maoists were trying to sneak into West Bengal through its border with Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar to create trouble in Jangalmahal, she urged the Centre to seal the border.
"Maoists are being brought into the state from Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar.
They are trying to regroup. But I must make it clear that violence of any kind will not be tolerated. We will not spare those who hand over guns to innocent villagers," she said. Accusing the Maoists of colluding with the CPI(M) to create fresh trouble in Jangalmahal, she said, "The Maoists have formed a suicide squad to kill me, Mukul (party general secretary Mukul Roy), Subhendu (party MP Subhendu Adhikary) and some other leaders".
She also warned Maoist sympathisers, allegedly working from Kolkata, that action would be taken if they were found encourging the ultras."We are preparing the list of those who are providing support to the Maoists sitting in Kolkata. If there is any subversive activity, strong action would be taken. Those who are providing such support, we know them by their physique and addresses."
"If Mamata Banerjee is killed, the partrons of the killers would be identified from the list. Those who kill and those who give encouragement to the killers are equally guilty," the Chief Minister said.
Apparently hinting that a section of intellectuals and academicians in Kolkata were sympathising with the Maoists, she said she loves literature, painting and music.
"But should I support the acts of killing of innocent people?" she wondered. She said that whenever she is in Jangalmahal, she heard of plan to kill her and threw a challenge to them to demonstate.
