"The Home Minister said the Union government will dispatch a Central Team to Assam immediately to assess the current flood situation," Water Resources Minister Keshab Mahanta said during a discussion over floods in the Assembly.
This was communicated to the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh during a telephonic conversation this morning, he said.
"The Chief Minister urgently took up the current flood issue with the Centre. He spoke to the Union Home Minister at length," Mahanta said.
