Chamber President C S Kartha said Companies Act 2013 mandates all the profit making companies to pay two per cent of their PAT (Profit After Tax) as CSR.
Noting that spending by Indian companies on CSR activities can grow more than four times to Rs 15,000 crore a year if all spent the funds as per the norms, Kartha said for this to happen there should be proper awareness among them.
Kartha said SAMATVA 2015, will be the platform for thought leaders across industries in Kerala to share the success stories that have truly helped them nurture the communities they have worked for and the results of their endeavours that have driven their passion to create a robust CSR roadmap for their organisations.
SAMATVA Conclave will be inaugurated by State Labour and Skills Minister Shibu Baby John. Home Minister Ramesh Cheninthala will be giving away the Best CSR Practice Award for Companies and NGOs at the Valedictory function to be held the same evening.
