The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa, today began a week-long visit to the UK with an aim to boost cooperation between air warriors of the two countries.
He will also attend an 'air power conference' being hosted by the UK's Royal Air Force (RAF).
More than 20 chiefs of air forces from across the world are likely to attend the event.
"The visit would provide an impetus to our defence cooperation and pave the way for greater interaction between the Royal Air Force and the Indian Air Force," the Indian Air Force said.
It said the visit would further strengthen relations between the two air forces and enable greater engagement.
Officials said the IAF Chief will hold wide-ranging talks with his British counterpart on ways to further deepen cooperation between the two forces.
