Talking to reporters at his office on Friday evening, Kadapa Superintendent of Police Naveen Gulati told that based on information from an inter-state red sanders smuggler named Pathan Liyakat, the police was able to make the breakthrough.
The Chinese national has been identified as named Pema Thar (26).
Liyakat, who is a resident of Katikanhalli in Hoskote taluk, was recently caught carrying 101 kg of red sanders logs in a car, during vehicle checking at Chinnamandem, the police official said, adding that three others managed to escape.
He said that a case has been registered against Thar, who will be produced before court.
