Chintan shivir: SAD to focus on LS polls; faces Cong attack

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said 'chintan shivir' of SAD-BJP alliance will focus on carving out a detailed action plan for the Lok Sabha polls, while Congress attacked the ruling party saying they have "lot of money" to organise a meeting in Goa.
The 'chintan shivir', which starts tomorrow at Goa, will focus on formulating a strategy for the next Lok Sabha polls, Badal said.
The alliance partners would not only introspect the working of their government but will also plan to strengthen the base of the alliance by overcoming their weaknesses, he said.
"The meeting will also focus on carving out a detailed action plan for the coming general elections so as to rout the Congress out of the state and paving way for the formation of the NDA government at the Centre," the chief minister said.

"Above all, during the shivir the leaders of the alliance would also deliberate upon the steps required to put the state on the high growth trajectory to fulfil the dream of 'new Punjab'," Badal told reporters here on the sidelines of a function.
Meanwhile, newly appointed Punjab Congress chief Pratap Singh Bajwa criticised the SAD-BJP government for holding the conclave at Goa, saying they (govt) have lot of money to spend on chintan shivir in Goa, "but the Chief Minister or Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal are not worried to solve the burning problems that Punjab is faced with".

Later, the ruling party took a strong exception to the "malicious propaganda" of the state Congress leadership regarding the law and order situation in the state.

The Chief Minister equated it to "pot telling the kettle black".
Badal also said before making such "baseless" statements the Congress leaders, including Bajwa, must peep into their conscience to see that "Punjab (at present) is much more peaceful then most of the Congress ruled states".
He claimed that the law and order situation was worst in the Congress-ruled states and "no one is safe even in the national capital where the Congress is at the helm of affairs".
Badal said that the sole aim of the Congress leaders behind issuing such irrational statements was to get the "cheap publicity in the media".
