Coal India Ltd has pegged its production estimate at 630 million tonne for the 2018-19 fiscal, the mining major's Chairman and Managing Director A K Jha said today.
"We are now projecting to produce 630 million tonne of coal and supply to power sector will be 525 million tonne," the newly-appointed CMD said here at an interaction with the media on his first day in office.
He also assured that demand from the power generation companies would be met.
In order to meet the present coal crisis, the mining behemoth is supplying 1.41 million tonne of coal per day as per a government directive.
