"The quality of service rendered at the facility is fast deteriorating and also many doctors have quit the institute", Bhopal Citizen's Forum told reporters here last evening.
Its members Dr. N P Mishra and convenor A C Chandra said there was an urgent need to fill up vacant posts at BMHRC.
Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, a 350-bedded multi-specialty tertiary care centre, was started as per the directive of the Supreme Court to provide advanced tertiary level super-specialty care to the victims of the 1984 gas tragedy as well as to extend its services to the public at large.
A similar apprehension was expressed by the 'Bhopal Gas Peedit Mahila Udyog Sangthan' convenor Abdul Jabbar that BMHRC may close down if remedial measures are not taken to revive it.
