In a statement, the commissionerate said it would remain open from Monday to Saturday (except December 25) till December 31.
Considering the huge rush for submission of Voluntary Compliance Enhancement Scheme (VCES) applications, it also informed that the offices would continue to function till 8pm on all working days including Saturday and Sunday (December 28 and 29) till December 31.
The service tax amnesty scheme ends on December 31.
The Kolkata commissionerate had received 640 applications in the zone till early this month and service tax collected was close to Rs 140 crore under the scheme.
