Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary told the Assam Assembly that the state's police and paramilitary forces were keeping a strict vigil round-the-clock.
He said the government has decided to give a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of those killed, while Rs 1 lakh would be paid to the families of the injured.
Around four-five suspected ULFA(I) cadres shot dead two persons and injured six others at Bamungaon village under Philobari police station in Tinsukia district last night, he told the House.
