Omar laid a floral wreath on the coffin carrying body of soldier Inder Singh at a ceremony held at Technical area of Jammu Airport this morning, a defence spokesman said.
He said senior officers of army, police and civil administration also laid wreaths on the soldier, who was killed in an attack on Army camp at Samba yesterday.
The officers included General Officer Commanding of 9 Corps of the Army Lt General P Bakshi, Director General of Police Ashok Prasad and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu, the spokesman said.
The body of Lt Col Bikramjeet Singh, who was killed in the attack, has already been flown to Chandigarh.
Meanwhile, the Unified Headquarter meeting began here with the Chief Minister in the chair to take stock of the situation following yesterday's militant attack.
Omar convened the meeting for a detailed security review in the Jammu region and analysis of the militant attack.
Terrorists had yesterday stormed a police station and then an army camp in Jammu region, killing 10 people including an army officer in twin 'fidayeen' attacks after they sneaked in from across the border.
