A Delhi court today fixed January 30 for considering a supplementary report of the CBI regarding the role of public servants who were allegedly involved in allocating coal block to Nagpur-based AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd.

"Certain clarifications have been sought qua the supplementary final report. Accordingly, matter be put up for consideration now on January 30," Special CBI Judge Bharat Parashar said.

The court was hearing the case in which CBI had earlier chargesheeted Congress MP Vijay Darda, his son Devendra Darda, Director of AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd, Manoj Jayaswal, and the firm, as accused for offences punishable under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) read with 420 (cheating) of IPC and under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.

During the hearing, the court allowed Vijay Darda's plea seeking modification of conditions which were imposed on him while he was granted bail last year.

Darda's counsel Vijay Aggarwal told the court that while his client was granted bail, the court had directed him not to leave the country without its prior permission but he has to travel abroad for business purposes and also in connection with his official duties as an MP.

Aggarwal said that Vijay Darda would ensure his presence on each and every date of hearing and that the trial was not hampered on account of his foreign trips.

Senior public prosecutor A P Singh expressed apprehension that the trial could get hampered on account of his frequent foreign visits.

"It is accordingly directed that henceforth before leaving the country accused (Vijay Darda) shall intimate the court not later than a week before the actual date of journey about his travel plan, itinerary and his contact addresses during the said travel," the judge said.

"However, it is made clear that accused shall remain present on each date of hearing unless ordered otherwise, be it the stage of recording evidence or any proceeding before or after," the court said.
