"Coast Guard station Krishnapatnam rescued 13 persons, including four women and three children, from flood affected Muthukur Mandal in Nellore district adjoining Tamil Nadu," a Coast Guard release here said.
On receipt of information from local police about stranded families due to heavy rainfall, a rubber boat was dispatched along with a team which rescued all the 13 persons with the help of local police, it said.
Nellore, about 170 km from here, is experiencing heavy rains due to the presence of a low pressure area.
