Srinagar, the summer capital of the state, registered a low of minus 2.4 degrees Celsius, a slight drop from the last night's minus 1.6 degrees Celsius, a MeT Department official said here.
He said the minimum temperature in Srinagar continues to remain below the normal for this part of the season.
Leh town, 434 kms from here, recorded a low of minus 11.2 degrees Celsius as compared to yesterday's minus 10.6 degrees Celsius, he said, adding the town in the frontier region of Ladakh continues to be the coldest recorded place in the state.
He said the famous ski-resort of Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 0.4 degree Celsius as compared to last night's minus 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Qazigund, the gateway town to Kashmir Valley, and Kokernag, in south Kashmir, registered a slight improvement in the night temperatures as the minimum settled at minus 2.0 degrees Celsius and 1.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
The MeT Department has forecast mainly dry weather across Kashmir division over the next 24 hours.
