Cold wave tightens grip over Punjab, Haryana

In Haryana, while Karnal's minimum temperature settled three notches below normal, Hisar experienced a cold night at 6.2 deg C, the meteorological department said.

Narnaul and Bhiwani recorded similar night temperatures with respective lows of 7 deg C and 7.2 deg C.

Ambala's minimum settled at 9.7 deg C.

After a cloudy sky yesterday, warm sun shine greeted the residents of Chandigarh, where the night temperature settled at 8.6 deg C, down one degree.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a low of 7 deg C.

Ludhiana and Patiala were 7.3 deg C and 7.4 deg C respectively.
