Satwinder Kaur, who resides in the UK, in her complaint to the Commission, has alleged that the amount has been siphoned off from her account with a private bank.
The Commission has asked the ADGP (Crime) that the inquiry be conducted by a senior officer and a report be submitted to the Commission by June 30.
Justice (retd) Arvind Kumar, chairperson, of the Commission said that Kaur in a written complaint has alleged that the amount had been siphoned off from her account with a leading private bank, having a branch at Chandigarh Road, Kurali (Punjab).
The complainant apprehends either the amount has been stolen or transferred to some other account without her consent.
Meanwhile, the bank officials told the Commission, the complainant requested the bank for a new cheque book through an e-mail and the cheque book was handed over to one person on her request.
The bank has also received photocopies of her identity -- including PAN card and voter card and copy of her passport while handing over the cheque book.
