Companies should look at tapping diverse talent sources to respond faster to ever-changing market demands, according to global HR major ManpowerGroup.
Emphasising that "one-size-fits-all" is no longer the right approach, Manpower Group chief Jeffrey A Joerres has said business leaders "must consider which skill sets they need to execute their business strategy, and how best to close existing gaps".
Joerres, who is the group's Chairman and CEO, made these comments while participating at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meet at Davos in Switzerland. The meet concluded yesterday.
According to a statement from Manpower Group, ever changing technology and shifting demographics, among others, have contributed to a marked imbalance.
In a world where talent has become the major agent of economic growth, this imbalance is adding pressure on the labour market, it said.
"Employers that tap into a wider range of skills across the entire talent ecosystem - full-time, part-time, contract and virtual - will maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace," Joerres was quoted as saying in the statement.
Forward-looking employers who optimise diversified talent sources would remain agile and flexible. It would enable them to respond faster to ever-changing market demands, it added.
