Conference of police's top brass to be held in Madhya Pradesh

The annual conference of top police officers of the country and the internal security establishment is expected to be held in Madhya Pradesh where issues ranging from 'love jihad' to illegal migrants are likely to be discussed.
The conference is tentatively planned for three days from December 1 or 2 at the Border Security Force (BSF) academy in Gwalior's Tekanpur, a senior official said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval apart from other senior police and intelligence officials are expected to take part in the annual conference, that was last held at the National Police Academy (NPA) in Hyderabad.

"The exact dates for the annual Directors General (DsG) and Inspectors General (IsG) of police conference are still being finalised. December 1 is also the BSF raising day and it is excepted that the border guarding force will hold the event at Tekanpur this time," the official said.
"The agenda and other subjects to be deliberated during the conference are also being worked upon," he said, on condition of anonymity.
He said some important issues such as the security situation in the major combat theatres of Jammu and Kashmir, Left Wing Extremism (LWE) and the north east insurgency are expected to be discussed during the three-days of the meeting apart from issues of 'love jihad' and radicalisation of youth.

Issues of curbing black money and narcotics in the wake of demonetisation are also expected to be on the agenda, he said.

The implementation and activation of decisions taken during the last few conferences will also be reviewed during the meeting which is expected to have keynote addresses by the prime minister and the home minister.
The subject of issuance and cancellation of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) permissions to non- governmental organisations and others could also be put on the agenda, he said.
The DsG/IsG of police conference is an annual affair where the senior police officials of the states and the Centre meet and discuss issues.

The Modi government has been holding it outside the national capital since it came to power.
The last three conferences have been conducted in Guwahati, Rann of Kutch in Gujarat and Hyderabad.
