Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) today said the ruling PDP and BJP should stop "playing politics" if they really wanted Kashmiri Pandits to return to the Valley.

"Both BJP and PDP are trying to gain political mileage to benefit themselves. If they really want them (Pandits) return to the Valley, they (PDP and BJP) should stop doing politics over this issue," PCC president G A Mir said at a day-long workers convention at Khanabal in Anantnag district.

Referring to the proposed separate township for Kashmiri Pandits, Mir termed it very "irresponsible" and criticised both the parties for creating confusion among the minority and majority communities of Jammu and Kashmir.

Terming the Kashmiri Pandits part and parcel of the community, Mir said Congress has worked a lot on this subject and provided them packages from time to time.

"We really want Kashmiri Pandits to return to Valley and we will always support their return to Valley gracefully," he added.

Referring to the present political scenario in the state, Mir said "we are not like BJP or PDP who change colours like anything and speak one voice in Kashmir Valley and another voice in Jammu".

On the party matters, the PCC president said it was a heartening situation that Congress is a vibrant situation in all the three regions of the State.

"It is inspiring that party's strength is increasing significantly, because we don't believe in hollow slogans. We believe in overall development of Jammu and Kashmir state and people are aware of it," he said.
