With government keen to pass the GST Bill in the coming winter session of parliament, Congress today asked it to come clean on the cap tax rate.
"We have asked about what would be the cap. They have to cap it with 18 per cent or 20 per cent, government has to come clean on that," Congress leader Anand Sharma said.
Government is hoping to get the Bill approved in the winter session of parliament beginning on November 26 and complete the other necessary legislative work by March 31.
Some opposition parties are demanding that GST rate be fixed at 18 per cent.
