"Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is not interested in development. He wants the post of prime minister with his stained hands," AICC General Secretary B K Hariprasad said.
Referring to the 2002 Gujarat riots, Prasad charged Modi with believing in 'vinash (destruction)' than 'vikas (development)'.
Addressing the PCC's Chhotanagpur Division Convention here, attended by four ministers of the party, he alleged the BJP had no political agenda as it depended on "divisive" agenda.
"Narendra Modi boasts of development. But I would like to ask him where does Gujarat stand in education and health? Does the state have a good hospital in every district?
Lauding AICC president Sonia Gandhi for enabling the Food Security Bill passed in Parliament, the veteran Congress leader said, "There is a fight in the BJP for the post of PM, but not for development or people-friendly programmes."
Turning his focus on Jharkhand politics, Prasad said the JMM/Congress/RJD stitched the alliance to provide "good governance, after the BJP derailed Jharkhand from the track of development'.
"Jharkhand has 40 per cent of the country's mineral resources yet has maximum poverty. One can't understand the irony. We will work hard to elevate Jharkhand," he said.
