Leader of Opposition Rameswhar Dudi today asked Rajasthan home minister to examine the media footage to determine whether police carried out "lathicharge" on protesting Youth Congress members and demanded action against the guilty policemen.
"Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria saw the video footage recorded by police but I asked him today in business advisory committee meeting to see the media footage of that incident to determine whether police used force (lathicharge) on our members or not," Dudi told reporters in the Assembly building.
He demanded action against the policemen who used force on the Youth Congress members. "We want to end the deadlock and now it is for the government to decide," he said.
The incident took place on March 3 when youth Congress members were protesting near the Assembly building on March 3. PCC Chief Sachin Pilot and Congress MLA Ashok Chandna were among other who received injuries in the lathicharge.
After the incident, Chandna had raised the issue in the House and showed his injuries by pulling off his shirt.
When, despite the Speaker's ruling, the Opposition members continued disrupting the House, nine MLAs (8 Congress and one Independent) were suspended for the rest of the current session on the same day.
Yesterday, Congress MLAs boycotted CM's budget speech and also staged a walkout from the house today demanding withdrawal of suspension of MLAs and action against guilty policemen.
