The Opposition Congress has been opposing the presence ex-MLA Sanwar Lal Jat in the Assembly claiming that he was not constitutionally a minister now.
However, the state Assembly Speaker, in his ruling, had said that the fact that he is still a cabinet minister in Rajasthan cannot be challenged.
"Jat, who was an MLA, joined the Rajasthan cabinet on December 20 but fought the Lok Sabha polls which he won.Later, he resigned as an MLA after taking oath as MP but continues to be a cabinet Minister which is completely illegal as has run out of the six months period for being elected as MLA in June," state Congress chief Sachin Pilot told PTI here.
