Congress MLA Ramesh started protesting after his question on public distribution system and ration dealer was deferred by Speaker Kailash Meghwal, who said getting a reply on it will be "lengthy and costly" amounting lakhs of rupees.
When Rajasthan Parliamentary Minister R S Rathor too said it will cost at least a crore rupees to the state exchequer to get an answer to the member's question, Ramesh rushed inside the well of the house and sat down there.
Ramesh was, however, immediately convinced by the Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi and other senior Congress MLAs to stop protesting and to take back his seat.
Meanwhile, much to the embarrassment of the state government, the Assembly witnessed noisy scenes when ruling BJP MLAs demanded Education Minister Kalicharan Saraf to make a statement on the issue of regularisation of services of 24,000 Vidhyarthi Mitras (temporary employees).
Meghwal, however, did not allow the issue to be taken up saying it was earlier discussed and the state government had already replied on it. Despite this, scores of BJP MLAs continued to demand a reply on the issue until Speaker took up another question for discussion.
"About 20,000 IIIrd Grade Teachers would be employed after withdrawing a special legal petition pending in the court, and 9500 posts of IInd grade teachers would be filled up on priority," Saraf said.
