A Congress member in the Lok Sabha today sought a CBI probe into the issue of the suicide of a student of AIIMS in Jodhpur, saying three students have already ended their lives at this institute.

Raising the issue in the Zero Hour, Karan Yadav read out from the student's suicide note and claimed that there appeared to be a problem in the way the teachers at the newly set up institute handled the students.

M Srinivasa Rao (TDP) demanded that the Centre give its nod to a bill passed by the Andhra Pradesh assembly that gives five per cent quota to the agrarian Kapu community.

BJP's Ajay Misra said the union government should inform the people about the benefits of generic medicine and launch a website where people can find the generic equivalent of branded drugs and their respective prices.

People doubt efficacy of generic drugs due to their low prices, he said, adding that this was a reason that these medicines have only seven per cent market in India even though the Indian firms enjoy a higher market share globally due to their generic medicines.

Shiv Sena's Arvind Sawant spoke about the tragedy that has struck families of 33 people who died in a bus accident in Maharashtra's Raigad district last week and asked the Centre to help them.
