Cong MP takes a dig at BJP

Taking a dig at the BJP leadership, senior Congress leader K V Thomas today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Cabinet colleagues, who assembled in Kozhikode for the BJP National Council, had not paid any attention to the development proposals submitted to them by the Kerala party unit.
"The state leadership of BJP submitted a very detailed development plan, containing long pending demands prepared by several experts, to Modi and other central ministers.
"But neither the Prime Minister or his colleagues paid any attention to the proposals submitted by the BJP state unit," Thomas, who is also the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament, said.

Recalling an AICC plenary held in Kochi 50 years ago "precisely in September 1966", he said Cochin Refineries was dedicated to the nation by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
"Moreover the discussion for establishing Cochin Shipyard was started in the pandhal of AICC. What a contrast!," the Lok Sabha MP wrote on his Facebook page.
He said the AICC plenary held in Kochi in 1966 was first of such party events held in Kerala.

Criticising the Prime Minister, the former Union minister said Kerala got only token projects like wi-fi or escalators during the national conference.
"Instead of the above token projects like wi-fi or escalators, BJP could have announced at the very minimum a separate railway zone for Kerala or commitment for the coach factory at Palakkad," he said.

"Promises for Acha Din comes every day from PM but nothing for the people of the country," he said.
Around 1,700 BJP leaders, including Modi and his cabinet colleagues had attended the BJP National Council meeting concluded in Kozhikode on Sunday.
