Terming RSS' alleged attack on Congress leaders here last week as a 'fascist' move to disturb harmony and peace, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kanti Lal Bhuria said his party would ask the Centre to impose a ban on RSS in MP.
"Congress will apprise the Union Home Minister about the RSS' fascist and terror-related activities in Madhya Pradesh and demand a ban on it," he said.
Bhuria was talking to reporters after taking part in a "peace march" organised to protest attack on houses of two Congress leaders allegedly by RSS volunteers on January 8.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat gave a "provocative" speech at a gathering of volunteers, who later unleashed violence to vitiate atmosphere in the city, he alleged.
"Congressmen exercised restrain and did not retaliate to avoid any confrontation with the volunteers who tried their best to create tension," he said.
Congress believes in non-violence and Gandhian way of protest, the Congress leader said.
The peace march, led by Bhuria, saw thousands of Congress workers walking silently through main streets of this commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh under tight police cover.
Among others who participated in the march included MP Sajjan Singh, PCC Mahila Morcha President Archna Jaisawal, spokesman Narendra Saluja and a number of MLAs.
