Congress, JKNPP hold protest against beheading of soldiers

Members of the Congress and the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today held separate demonstrations against Pakistan and set afire effigies of its Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in protest against beheading of Indian soldiers.
The protesters expressed indignation over the alleged lack of political will of the BJP-led government in responding to the recreant misadventures of Pakistan troops, who beheaded two soldiers recently.
The women wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today held demonstration against the BJP and submitted memorandum at the Jammu-based office of the United Nations.
They burnt the effigy of the Pakistani prime minister and demanded stern action against the neighbouring country by the government.
The district minority cell of the Jammu Congress also held a strong protest demonstration at Shaheedi Chowk here.
The JKNPP also held protests and demanded strong retaliation by the army.
A group of Panther activists led by it chairman Harsh Dev and other leaders staged a demonstration at the exhibition ground here.
