Constable kills brother-in-law for torturing sister

A man allegedly killed his brother-in-law today in Bihar's Bhagalpur district for "torturing" his sister.
Rakesh Kumar, a police constable allegedly shot dead Devendra Kumar at Mahdevapur village where he and his father Suresh Sah had gone on getting information about the alleged torture, police said.
There were discussions between them and the woman's in-laws on the issue, they added.
Rakesh Kumar wanted to take his sister to his house this morning which was opposed by her in-laws and led to an altercation between them. At this, the police constable shot his brother-in-law from his service revolver and fled the scene, the police said.

Devendra Kumar, an accountant at a local college, was rushed to hospital, where he died during treatment, they said.
The incident was confirmed by Kahalgaon Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ramanand Kumar Kaushal.
Police arrested Sah and have launched a search for the constable.
