Consumers prefer specialised products over basic items: Kantar

With the growing consumer demand, customers are looking for specialised and new products over basic items, global marketing research firm Kantar Worldpanel today said, citing its data.
Besides, demand for personal grooming products, including face cream, serums, hair gel, among others have seen uptrend, it said.
Part of information and consultancy group Kantar Group, Kantar Worldpanel is an international company dealing in consumer knowledge and insights based on continuous consumer panels.
"We have a dedicated team, which works with around 82,000 partner households and collects data on various segments and analyses the behaviour and trends" Kantar Worldpanel Country Head K Ramakrishnan told PTI.
The company works in fields such as FMCG, impulse products, beauty and personal care, fashion, baby, telecommunications and entertainment.
It has clients, including HUL, ITC and Emami.
Sharing the insights, the company said categories offering convenience such as products that make cooking easy see traction.
Further, ecommerce and e-grocery concept has also helped sales of consumer products grow rapidly.
Kantar Group is the Data Investment Management Division of the global information and consultancy group WPP.
