Assistant sub-inspector Bhomaram, posted at Ratanada police chowki, was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from Gulab Ram to remove some names from an FIR filed in connection with a clash, ACB's acting DIG Narpat Singh said.
Gulab Ram had filed a complaint with the ACB, alleging that his nephew had field an FIR against nine persons, including him, at Ratanada police chowki in connection with a clash.
Bhomaram took Rs 2,000 during the verification of the complaint and agreed to take the remaining amount at the police chowki today.
"The moment Gulab Ram handed over the money to the ASI, we arrested him," said Singh.
The ACB recovered Rs 2,000 from Bhomaram taken earlier in the day, besides the money seized during the raid. "We have arrested the ASI and have initiated an investigation," he said.
