Cop injured in accidental firing in JK's Udhampur
Kulbir Singh (39), a selection grade constable, was injured yesterday when his service rifle went off accidentally during training at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy, a police officer said today.
The injured constable was rushed to a hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger, he said.
Singh received several stitches on his cheek where he was hit by the bullet. The constable was discharged from the hospital later in the evening, he said.
Police has taken cognizance of the case and initiated an investigation.
