At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February traded higher by 80 paise, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 384.85 per kg, in a business turnover of 1,183 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month April edged up by 60 paise, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 388.10 per kg in 13 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures trade to a firm trend at the domestic physical market on pick up in demand from consuming industries and a firm trend overseas.
