According to market players, lower stocks and pick up in demand for animal feed makers in physical markets attributed to the upsurge in cottonseed oil cake futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, cottonseed oil cake delivery in March contracts gained by Rs 8.50, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 1,657 per quintal with an open interest of 1,45,180 lots.
Similarly, the delivery for April contracts advanced by Rs 7.50 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 1,682 per quintal, with an open interest of 34,870 lots.
