Couple crushed to death by speeding truck in Jharkhand

A middle-aged couple was today killed when the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a speeding truck near Burkhunda in this district, a police officer said.
The couple, identified as Sanjay Agarwal (50) and his wife Pramila Agarwal (45), were on their way to Rajrappa temple, Superintendent of Police, M Tamilvanan said.
The couple was crushed under the wheels of the truck, he said.
Following the incident, irate people gathered on the spot and put up a blockade on National Highway 23 disrupting vehicular movement between Ramgarh and Bokaro for about seven hours.
The blockade was removed following assurance from the senior district officials to initiate necessary action.
