The brawl erupted when the family of Narendra, who lives in Margati Jalalpur village of Makkhanpur area, objected to the use of hand-pump installed in their premises by the daughter of Mukesh (40) and Sunita (38), police said.
Situation turned ugly when, in a fit of rage, Narendra and four others opened fire on their neighbours, killing Sunita on the spot and seriously injuring Mukesh, who also succumbed to injuries later.
All the five assailants are on the run and police are making efforts to arrest them, they said.
