Metropolitan magistrate Akash Jain asked police to file the ATR on the request of the complainant, who submitted that he had made a complaint to the police but no action was taken.
The complainant has sought "names of unsocial elements or of those involved in criminal cases be removed from the voter list and that they be declared invalid to contest any elections."
"On request made by the complainant, action taken report be furnished by the IO/ SHO concerned...," the court said.
The complainant said election voter cards are issued, without making proper inquiries, to unsocial elements who are involved in criminal activities and facing trial.
He said after getting election cards, such persons contest elections to the post of councillors, MLAs and MPs and in case they win the elections, they give rise to corruption.
