A special court has discharged two persons in a case in which they were accused of arranging money and disbursing them to various terrorist organisations.
District judge Amar Nath granted the relief to West Bengal residents Shahjahan Seikh and Malek Seikh after noting that there were no evidence to begin trial against them.
"Both the accused persons are discharged at this stage," the court said during in-chamber proceeding.
The accused were arrested last year and were currently lodged in the judicial custody.
According to sources, during the arguments in the case, the counsel representing one of the accused persons, advocate Umakant Kataria, submitted that the prosecution lacked the evidences to start a trial against his client.
The counsel had submitted that no currency was recovered from the accused persons and also there was no call detail to nail his client.
The NIA had filed an FIR and earlier alleged that both the accused persons were involved in arranging money and transferring them to the terrorist organisations for the terror activities in the country.
