Metropolitan Magistrate Sheetal Chaudhary fixed November 18 for pronouncement of order after hearing arguments on the complaint that has sought lodging of a criminal case against Malhotra for making provocative remarks at a press conference here on March 25 this year.
The complaint was filed by advocate Shahid Ali, President of United Muslim Front organisation, after the police had allegedly refused to register an FIR against Malhotra on March 29, 2014.
"From the inquiry conducted so far, no cognisable offence is made out. Moreover, the alleged statement was given during a press conference and the area where the press conference was held also does not fall in the jurisdiction of Police Station Jamia Nagar," the report had said.
The complaint was filed in the court on March 29 against Malhotra for allegedly promoting enmity on the ground of religion and residence and thereby causing disharmony and feelings of hatred between people who have been residing in areas like Jamia Nagar and Batla House by calling them as the "safe houses for terrorists".
"The leaders of the Congress and AAP are helping in keeping these areas safe for terrorists," the complaint said.
